Lifts, Tows, and Trails

Hovden Alpine Center is located at the top of Setesdal and is one of Norway's largest and most snow-sure alpine resorts. The lifts take you up to the mountain peaks of Hovdenut and Storenos, the latter of which is over 1200 meters above sea level. Here, you get a magical view that guarantees an alpine feel.

Hovden Alpine Center is the largest ski resort in Southern Norway, with a total of 33 trails, 2 chair lifts, 5 ski tows, and 1 ski carpet spread across three areas. The total trail length is 42.5 km, and the maximum vertical drop is 420 meters.

In addition, the resort features two parks and two ski cross courses. The lift capacity is over 9,000 people per hour, so even during a busy weekend, you can always find a tow or a lift without a queue. The trail network spans three ski areas: Breivesiden and the areas around the mountain peaks Hovdenuten and Storenos.

In one of these three ski areas, we have our children's area, Tusseland. Here, we have 2 of our ski tows and 1 ski carpet for those trying skiing for the first time. For those who have skied a bit more and want to try a longer trail, you can actually take the chair lift to the top and ski all the way down to Tusseland in great kids' trails.
